What a nice surprise I had yesterday from Kitty of New York Portraits, when she included me in her BFF (Blogging Friends Forever) awards list - I was so pleased and am so happy to have made new blogging friends since starting 365DaysinIslip.

Here are the rules for the award:

Wowie Zowie, who'd'a'thunk I'da stuck with this?? I'm pretty impressed with myself, One Hundred Days! And here to celebrate, is a cheat day! Ha. Mr. William Drago, of Loving Long Island, sent me a follow-up picture to my Day 98 - he'd taken a full shot of the house with "fancy gates" from the water (being the avid boater that he is), so I thought I'd share this with y'all today. I wasn't kidding when I said it looks like a hotel!

I'm cranky. It was a good day right up until it became a really, really bad day. Here's my picture.

Today was glorious. It rained during the night, then was sunny and damp all day - that sort of fog that the warm autumn light shines through and reflects off of, making everything look soft and hazy but bright. I didn't have to work and got to enjoy the lovely day. Tomorrow is back to the office. But at least I had today.

Day 87

About ten years ago I friend and I drove down to the little Islip beach to eat lunch....it was the last week of the school year...my daughter was still in her elementary school class that day...but on the beach that day, in this gazebo, a small wedding was taking place. Two kids that looked like high school students, a few family members and friends, and some sort of justice. And a very small wedding in the beach gazebo.

I think of them almost every time I'm down I'm at that beach. Did they make the marriage work? They were So Young. I wonder how they are now.

Homecoming! I felt so bad for the high school kids last week. They worked hard all week on floats for the Homecoming Parade...and then got rained out :-( But the floats were on display today at the high school. Rah Rah!
